Revelon Road – Eco House

The house has been designed and built with sustainability as an essential element. It aims as far as possible to only include materials and products that minimise negative impact on the environment, are highly energy efficient and reduce levels of water consumption. It contains many features that will significantly benefit the home and wider environment.

The materials and construction are designed to be as healthy and robust as possible whilst also reducing the energy consumption through high levels of insulation, good construction, passive ventilation and natural light. The walls are designed and built as a certified fully breathing construction system. The NBT Pavaclad system is a BBA certified system that uses natural low carbon renewable materials to create a durable toxin free and very low waste external wall and roof.

The construction consisted of a stick built timber frame, wood fibre insulation, OSB airtightness layer, high performance windows, Douglas fir external cladding and a lime render insulation system. In our opinion this is a real triumph in space design with the house only measuring 3.4 metres wide.
